How I collect, use and look after your personal information.

Last updated: October 2026

Who I am

The Farnham Handyman is The Farnham Handyman Ltd, run by Sander Eland in Farnham, Surrey. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact me at thefarnhamhandyman@gmail.com or on 07957 573626.

What information I collect

When you send an estimate request, I collect:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, postcode and, if you give it, your street address
  • Details of the job and any photos you choose to send
  • The services you ticked and the ballpark estimate shown

How I use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a price
  • To arrange, carry out and invoice the work
  • To keep records I'm legally required to keep, such as invoices

I will never sell your information or use it for marketing without your separate permission.

Legal basis

I use your information because you've asked me for a price (steps taken at your request before a contract), to carry out the work you've agreed (contract), and to meet my tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

How long I keep it

If you don't go ahead, I delete your details within 12 months. If I do work for you, I keep invoice records for 6 years, as required by HMRC.

Who I share it with

Only the services I need to run the business: my website and email hosts (IONOS and Google Gmail, where your request and photos arrive) and my accounting software. If your job is better suited to Local Treasures West Surrey, I'll only pass on your details with your agreement.

Cookies and your device

This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

The website doesn't keep a copy of your request. It's emailed to me and to you, then removed from the server. To save you retyping, your name and contact details are remembered in your own browser on your device, so the form is filled in if you come back to add more jobs. You can clear this by clearing your browser's site data.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Just email me. If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
